Berrien Co. police investigate suspicious death of 6-week-old baby – WNDU

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. (WNDU) Police are investigating the suspicious death of a 6-week-old baby in Berrien County.

First responders were dispatched at 6:23 a.m. Thursday to a home in the 3900 block of Fikes Road in Hagar Township.

The call was for an infant who wasn’t breathing.

By the time first responders arrived, the infant was dead. A man who says he’s a family friend tells NewsCenter 16 he was at the home when he was awoken about the emergency.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

The Berrien County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau is continuing to investigate.

The report will then be forwarded to the Berrien County Prosecutor’s Office for review, which is customary in suspicious death investigations.

The Berrien County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Michigan State Police, the State of Michigan’s Child Protective Services, and Pride Care Ambulance.

HAGAR TOWNSHIP, Mich. — First responders were called to a home in the 3900 block of Fikes Road early Thursday morning in response to an infant not breathing.

When first responders arrived, they determined the 6-week-old child was deceased.

The Berrien County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker School of Medicine.

Colorado Springs police investigate suspicious death –

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Colorado Springs police investigated a suspicious death early Wednesday morning.

The investigation happened at the Beverly Place apartments near Austin Bluffs Parkway and N. Academy Boulevard.

Officers were called to the area around 10 a.m., where they found a young woman who was deceased.

Detectives worked to conduct interviews Wednesday. As of 1:30 p.m., police said all people involved were accounted for and they were not searching for any suspects.
