Suspicious death in Lexington ruled a homicide – WKYT

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – The death of a man who was found dead in a Lexington apartment in May has been ruled a homicide, after a coroner originally said it was suspicious.

Police say 24-year-old Abraham Piedra was found dead inside an apartment on Daniel Court on May 13.

They say the Fayette County Coroner responded to the scene at the time and determined that the circumstances of the death were suspicious.

On Saturday, police said that the Medical Examiner has ruled the cause of Piedra’s death is a homicide.

A week and a half after Piedra’s death, there was a seemingly random drive-by shooting on Daniel Court that left a man injured. Police have not said if that shooting is related to this incident.

Police do not have any suspect descriptions in Piedra’s death at this time.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (859) 258-3600.
