Abilene police investigating ‘suspicious death’

Abilene police are investigating the death of Lin Rushing, a well-known Abilene businesswoman found in her Fairway Oaks home Friday afternoon.

In an impromptu news conference Friday evening, Police Chief Stan Standridge called the death “suspicious.”

On Saturday during a news conference for an unrelated incident, Standridge said Rushing’s body was taken to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. He said the investigation was continuing.

On Friday, Standridge said Rushing, 75, was discovered deceased by her husband, Larry, at their home on Pinehurst Street.

Larry Rushing is cooperating with police, Standridge said.

Dispatch received a 911 call at 4:49 p.m. Friday, the chief said.

There were no signs of forced entry, he said, and police do not believe residents of Fairway Oaks or adjacent neighborhoods are

Sheriff’s office investigating suspicious death

The Dawson County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is currently investigating a suspicious death of a 27-year-old, according to Dawson County Sheriff Jeff Johnson. 

Johnson said he would not say that officers are investigating the death as a murder at this time but that they are looking at some suspicious circumstances. 

Johnson said the call came in around 11 a.m. this morning from a residence off Dawson Forest Road. 

The sheriff could not provide further details about the death or the circumstances at this time.

SACRAMENTO — The Sacramento Police Department is investigating a “suspicious” death in the area of Tiscornia Park on Jibboom Street.

Authorities say a citizen found a man with trauma on the sidewalk around 7:15 a.m.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the victim appears to be a transient.

The Jibboom Steet entrance of Discovery Park will be closed while they investigate.

Sacramento Police Investigating Suspicious Death Near Tiscornia Park

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Police officers are investigating a suspicious death near Tiscornia Park Friday morning.

The scene is along the 200 block of Jibboom Street, near Richards Boulevard.

A transient was found around 7 a.m. The person, who has not been identified, suffered trauma.

Sacramento police say the entrance to Discovery Park is closed due to the investigation.

Erie police await autopsy in ‘suspicious’ death

Detectives are reviewing video, awaiting interviews in their investigation into the discovery of the body on Thursday.

Erie police investigators are awaiting a Friday afternoon autopsy on a city man who was found dead in his eastside apartment on Thursday afternoon.

The autopsy is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday on the man, whose name has not been released. He was found deceased in his first-floor apartment in a multi-unit apartment house in the 1000 block of East 26th Street shortly after noon on Thursday.

Investigators have called the death suspicious and said Thursday that they are treating it as a homicide. If it is ruled a homicide following the autopsy, it will be the 11th in Erie County and the fifth in the city so far this year.
