Springfield police investigate 2 suspicious deaths in west Springfield – Springfield News

Late Wednesday, Springfield police were involved in a suspicious death investigation at a west Springfield home on Elm Street just east of Lafontaine Avenue.

Police spokeswoman Jasmine Bailey confirmed that an adult male and female were found dead inside a home on the 1900 block of West Elm. Officers began working at the scene around 5 p.m., she said.

No further information was available as of 7 p.m., Bailey said.

MCSO, TBI investigate suspicious death of 3-year-old

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation are investigating what they say is a suspicious death of a 3-year-old Jackson child.

Deputies responded to a call at a residence on Cane Creek Road in Jackson at around 5 p.m. Tuesday and found EMS caring for an unresponsive 3-year-old girl, according to a release from MCSO Public Information Officer Tom Mapes.

The child was taken to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. MCSO is investigating cause of death and the girl’s body has been sent to Nashville for an autopsy, according to Mapes.

Three other children were at the residence at the time, including a 2-year-old boy, a 4-year-old girl and a 7-year-old

Sheriff’s office, TBI investigate suspicious death of 3-year-old – WBBJ

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — The sheriff’s office and the TBI are investigating the suspicious death of a 3-year-old girl.

Deputies responded around 5 p.m. Tuesday to a home on Cane Creek Road where the child was unresponsive, according to a release from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

EMS transported the child, who has not been identified, to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The death is considered suspicious, and the child’s body has been taken to Nashville for an autopsy, according to the release.

Four children were in the home, ages 2, 3, 4 and 7. There were three girls and a 2-year-old boy.

The 4-year-old girl in the home was taken to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital for treatment of malnutrition, the release says. Investigators say she has since been transferred to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis.

Suspicious death in apartment on Barton Chapel Road – WRDW

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) — The coroner’s office is investigating the death of a 25-year-old female found in an apartment on the 2300 block of Barton Chapel Road.

She was pronounced dead at 6:30 p.m. The coroner says it appears she was dead for several hours before being found.

The coroner tells us the woman’s 4-year-old child was found inside the home. The 4-year-old was taken to Augusta University Children’s Medical Center to be checked.

The woman’s body will be sent to the GIB Lab for an autopsy.
