Deaths of woman, man in Hollis deemed murder-suicide, AG says

The deaths of a man and woman in Hollis have been ruled a murder-suicide, according to the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office.

The attorney general announced Sunday night that autopsies had been performed on Brian McDonough, 51, and Alisa Mayo, 41, who were found dead in a Hollis home Saturday.

Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Jennie Duval determined that the cause of Mayo’s death was a gunshot wound to the head, and the manner of her death was homicide. McDonough’s death cause of death was also a gunshot wound to the head, and the manner of his death was suicide.

Although the investigation into the deaths remains ongoing, officials believe McDonough shot and killed Mayo and then shot and killed himself. The two were known to each other, and their bodies were discovered by police during a welfare check of the house where

Sheriff’s department investigating woman’s suspicious death Sunday in Miami County

The Miami County Sheriff’s Department is trying to determine what happened to an unidentified woman who was found dead in her home Sunday morning.

Her death is considered suspicious, Capt. Matthew Kelly said.

Deputies and paramedics arrived shortly before 6 a.m. at the house in rural Miami County in response to a call for medical assistance. Kelly had no more information to provide the public Sunday afternoon, calling the situation “fluid.”

Local News Man, toddler found dead in burned vehicle in Platte County Nick Starling 12:59

PLATTE COUNTY, Mo. — The Platte County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the suspicious deaths of a man and toddler, who were found Sunday in a burned vehicle north of Ridgley, Missouri.

A caller reported seeing human remains inside a burning vehicle shortly after 7 a.m. in the 20000 block of North County Road B.

Deputies said the remains of an adult male and a toddler are believed to be in the vehicle.

“The vehicle is extremely charred, so it’s not easily identifiable just by looking at it,” Platte County Sheriff’s Maj. Erik Holland said. “We’re going to be trying to locate VIN numbers and things like that to confirm the actual vehicle.”

The investigation remains ongoing, but authorities are calling the vehicle fire suspicious.

“We’re still working it as a suspicious death,” Holland said. “We work all deaths fully until we exactly know what the cause of the death is.”

Remains of toddler, man found in burned vehicle in Platte County

(PLATTE COUNTY, Mo.) The Platte County Sheriff’s Department is investigating what they say is the suspicious death of a man and toddler. 

The sheriff’s office received a call shortly after 7:00 a.m. Sunday regarding a vehicle on fire in the 20000 block of B Highway north of Ridgley.

When first responders arrived on scene, they found the remains of a toddler and man inside a charred car.

“We have found ‘skeletonized’ remains of what we believe is an adult male and possibly a toddler,” Major Erik Holland from the Platte County Sheriff’s Office said. 

Fire crews had to cut through the car’s doors after the handles were melted shut. 

“A lot of parts had melted down so it had to be cut,” Holland said. 

Investigators say this will be a slower investigation due to the state of the remains. Detectives say they will have to use dental or DNA samples to positively identify the bodies.

Allentown mother of two dead in apparent ‘domestic violence situation’ early Sunday

Allentown police are investigating a “suspicious death” early Sunday that is believed to be the result of domestic violence, authorities said.

Yosandra Munoz Corporan, 27, died at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest two hours after police were called to the 100 block of South West Street, authorities said.

Police and Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin released few details of the circumstances of Corporan’s death, and Martin said no one was in custody.

“It appears to have been a domestic violence situation, that’s all I’m going to say,” Martin said.

Allentown police investigating ‘suspicious death’ early Sunday

Allentown police are investigating a “suspicious death” early Sunday that is believed to be the result of domestic violence, authorities said.

The death was reported about 12:45 a.m. on the 100 block of South West Street, but police and Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin released few details of it.

“It appears to have been a domestic violence situation, that’s all I’m going to say,” Martin said.

Martin said no one was in custody. He and police Capt. Charles Roca would not discuss the circumstances of the death.

Sheriff’s Office Investigating Suspicious Death In Bay Point

A body was found in a residential area of Bay Point in unincorporated Contra Costa County early Sunday morning, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim was found to the east of the intersection of Suisun and North Broadway avenues just after midnight, Sgt. William Baker said. A woman out for a walk reported the discovery of the body and was being talked to by investigators, according to Baker.

Investigators are trying to determine the circumstances around the victim’s death. Homicide detectives are at the scene and Baker said more information will be released later Sunday.
