U.P. man acquitted in 2017 torture trial arrested in suspicious death investigation

MUNISING, MI – Munising Police have arrested a suspect in connection to a suspicious death in the city.

Police discovered an unresponsive 58-year-old man in his home in the 300 block of West Munising Avenue on May 30 and immediately ruled the death as suspicious.

According to WLUC-TV6, officers arrested Jason David Sadowski and charged him with Homicide, Open Murder, a crime that carries a maximum penalty of life in prison upon conviction.

This isn’t the first time Sadowski has been in trouble with the law. According to state records, he was arrested for solicitation to commit murder, two counts of torture, two counts of unlawful imprisonment and two counts of assault by strangulation in 2013.

He was convicted and sentenced to 40-80 years in prison but was granted a re-trial after appeal where he was acquitted of all charges.
