Police investigate suspicious death in north St. Louis


ST. LOUIS – Homicide detectives with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a suspicious death in the St. Louis Place neighborhood in north St. Louis.

Police say a body was found in a vacant building in the 1800 block of North 19th Street Sunday afternoon just before 3 p.m.

An investigation is ongoing.

Edmonton police investigating suspicious death in downtown apartment

Edmonton police said they are investigating a suspicious death that happened on Friday.

Police said officers responded to a report of a man’s body being found inside an apartment suite at 93 Street and 104 Avenue on Friday.

Saanich Police looking for information relating to suspicious death

An investigation is underway in Saanich after the body of an unidentified man was found outside a home on Crease Avenue just after 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Police are asking the public for any information relating to the incident. Anyone who was in the region from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Saturday or who drove through the region with a dash cam is asked to contact police.

Saanich Police responded to a report of an unidentified man who was laying outside a home on Crease Avenue near Wascana Street. Emergency personnel confirmed that the man was deceased.

The nature of his injuries lead police to believe the death is suspicious.

The area where the man’s body was found has been blocked off by police and the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) is on the scene. The area can be expected to be blocked off until sometime on Monday.

Police investigating suspicious death in Saanich neighbourhood after body found

Saanich Police are investigating what they call a “suspicious death” in a residential neighbourhood this weekend.

Officers first descended on the 100-block of Crease Avenue Saturday morning, and remained on scene into Sunday.

Police said Sunday they received reports of a man lying unresponsive outside a home at the intersection of Crease Avenue and Wascana Street just before 9 a.m.

The man was confirmed deceased, and investigators believe his death is suspicious “due to the nature of his injuries.”

The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) has since taken over the investigation, which police say is in its early stages. The man’s identity has not been released.

Sgt. Julie Fast with Saanich Police said investigators are hoping to hear from witnesses and anyone who was driving near the neighbourhood between 6 am.

Gowanda Correctional prisoner dies after ‘medical episode’

A 63-year-old male prisoner at the Gowanda Correctional Facility died Saturday night after suffering an unspecified “medical episode” 12 years into a 20-year sentence for a sexual offense committed in Niagara County.

James G. Farley was pronounced dead at the prison at 6:26 p.m., after receiving emergency medical attention from security and prison medical staff, as well as emergency medical technicians who were called to the scene.

State Department of Corrections spokesman Thomas Mailey said “this does not appear to be a suspicious death at this time,” but noted that, by law, it will be investigated by the Erie County Medical Examiner’s Office, which will determine and report the exact cause of death.

All deaths in state facilities are also reviewed by the State Commission of Correction, and by the state police and Corrections’ Office of Special Investigations if the cause is not natural or “from a known medical condition,” Mailey added.

Arrest made in death of man in Angelina County

At approximately 7:15 a.m. Saturday, investigators were called to Guy York Rd in Angelina County in reference to a deceased person in a vehicle. The sheriff’s office said investigators, patrol, and their crime scene unit processed the crime scene, spoke with numerous witnesses and identified the victim as Joseph Williams.

Detectives investigate suspicious death in Gresham, ask to speak with witnesses

GRESHAM, OR (KPTV) – Detectives are investigating a suspicious death in Gresham and want to hear from potential witnesses.

Officers just before 7 a.m. Saturday responded to Northeast Wilkes Road and Northeast 181st Avenue after a man was found dead.

The police department Saturday night said the East County Major Crimes Team is investigating the incident as a homicide. No additional information was immediately available for release.

Detectives ask anyone who saw or heard anything in regards to this incident to call them at 503-618-2719.
