Pensacola Police Department spokesman Mike Wood confirmed the deceased is an elderly woman who was living with her son.
Police have been questioning the woman’s son on the lawn of the apartment complex about care for his mother. The man has been loudly answering officers’ questions and has been verbally confrontational at times.
He has yelled at the officers that they are “telling him lies.” The man also keeps reminding officers that he last paid rent May 6.
Police say the son called another family member after his mother died, and that relative contacted police.

FITCHBURG, MASS. (WHDH) – Police are investigating the “suspicious” death of a person who was found dead inside of a car on Tuesday afternoon, officials said.
Officers responding to a report of an unresponsive person inside a motor vehicle in the area of Drake Road around 12:50 p.m. found a deceased individual inside, according to the Fitchburg Police Department.
“Upon arrival, it was evident that the person located inside the vehicle was deceased,” the department said in a press release.
Fitchburg police and Massachusetts State Police are investigating.
No additional information was immediately available.

Police in Auburn, New Hampshire, are investigating after a gruesome discovery at a Waste Management transfer station.
Authorities say a body was found on Monday morning in a pile of trash.
“Stuff like that doesn’t happen around here,” said Amanda Maxwell, who lives nearby. “It is kind of shocking.”
Details are limited, but a law enforcement source tells NBC10 Boston that the body of an adult male was discovered in the process of moving trash around the facility.
Town leaders say trash trucks from Manchester drop off at this location. According to the town website, there’s also a drop-off site that’s free for Auburn residents.
“There are dumpsters,” said Maxwell. “You can put trash bags in one, wood furniture in another, you go around in a circle and dump whatever you have.”

WILTON MANORS — Florida detectives say they’re investigating the death of a man discovered inside a burning home.
A Broward Sheriff’s Office news release says 40-year-old John Young was pronounced dead at the scene Thursday night following a fire at a Wilton Manors home.
Homicide detectives are investigating the case as a suspicious death.
The medical examiner’s office will determine the cause of death.
The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — A suspicious death overnight in the northwest remains under investigation.
At around 3 a.m. Sunday, Calgary police were called to a residence on Hampstead Close N.W., after a man in his late 40s was found dead inside the home.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, May 13. Police say it’s still early in the investigation and “little is known at this point.”
Investigators are asking anyone with information on the incident to contact the homicide tip line or Crime Stoppers.
The public are being asked to help find a man in relation to the suspicious death of a man, 38, whose body was found in a recliner at a Gold Coast home.
Police were called to the Markwell Avenue home in Surfers Paradise about 5.15pm on Friday when they saw the body of Dre Nova through the lounge window.
He was found with significant injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to the Gold Coast Bulletin, he was found with a head injury.
The Homicide Investigation Group declared a crime scene and scientific officers continue to process the scene
