Police have arrested the father of a 3-year-old boy who died suspiciously in southwest Oklahoma City Monday night.
Elias Mendoza had trauma consistent with child abuse when officers found him unresponsive at 2940 SW 21 about 6:55 p.m. Elias was taken by ambulance to OU Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police reported.
Jesus Marquez, 28, was arrested on child abuse complaints and taken to the Oklahoma County jail, police reported.

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — Police said the adult son of a Chesterfield couple found dead in their home Saturday has been arrested in Ohio for the murder of his parents.
Chesterfield Police said 53-year-old Robert Raff (aka Robert James Ralph) was arrested in Avon, Ohio, Saturday after police said a resident reported “suspicious activity.”

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Detectives with BPD are continuing to follow up on the
suspicious death of Joseph Lara.
On January 23, detectives arrested Dennis Marroquin for his role in the offense. Marroquin was booked for Destruction of Evidence, Concealing an Accidental Death and conspiracy.
While in custody, Marroquin was additionally charged with accessory.
Detectives arrested Kailee Morrison on Monday, January 28 for her role in the offense. Morrison was later booked for possession of a controlled substance for sales, possession of marijuana for sales, destruction of evidence, concealing an accidental death, conspiracy and accessory.

TUCSON, Ariz. – Tucson Police have arrested 30-year-old Breanna Henson for on one charge of child abuse, a class four felony, following an investigation into a suspicious infant death in Eastside Tucson on Thursday, Jan. 24.
Per Sgt. Pete Dugan of TPD, the mother, Henson, has been booked in Pima County Jail.
The original call that East Division police responded to was a welfare check.
When officers arrived at the apartment in the 7600 block of E. Apple Tree Drive, near the intersection of Irvington and Pantano, they discovered a deceased infant girl. The 8-month-old girl, Patricia Henson, had puncture wounds and scrapes on her body and TPD said the injuries are consistent with being caused by a dog. The girl was pronounced dead at the scene.
However, the cause of death has not been released yet.

ROCKFORD – A Rockford man has been charged with murder stemming from a Dec. 10 suspicious death investigation in rural Winnebago County, according to the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office.
Nikles T. Parks, 26, is charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery and concealing a homicidal death, according to the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Parks allegedly shot and killed Jamie R. Stephens, 31, of Rockford, prior to authorities locating his body off the roadway in the 9200 block of Knapp Road near North Meridian Road west of Machesney Park, according to reports.
Parks is being held at the Winnebago County Jail on $2 million bond.

VILLAGE OF PEWAUKEE, Wis. (AP) – Police in southeastern Wisconsin have arrested a person in connection with a suspicious death in an apartment complex.
The Village of Pewaukee Police Department said Saturday that the person was taken into custody on suspicion of homicide. The Police Department said on its Facebook page that the suspect’s name will be released once formal charges are filed. The name of the victim also will be released then.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports police received a call for a welfare check on Thursday night. That led to a suspicious death investigation.
Police say the public is not in danger.

PEWAUKEE — Police in the Village of Pewaukee have arrested a person for a homicide
— after a body was found during a welfare check Thursday evening on Meadowcreek Drive on the east side of the village near Liberty Park.
Police say the identity of the suspect and the victim killed will be made public once the suspect is formally charged.
Police say they have no reason to believe the community is in any danger from this incident.
