Person of interest back in custody | News

KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) —  A Kalamazoo woman who had been named as a person of interest in a suspicious death investigation is back in the County Jail. 

32-year-old Melissa Sue Morgan is being held on a drug possession charge after she was arrested by Portage Public Safety.   

She was brought in for questioning following a house fire on Wallace Street in February and later released.

The body of 31-year-old Zachariah Hayes was found in the debris and his death was ruled a homicide.

Suspicious death turns into homicide investigation; 28-year-old Spokane man in custody

Two men in custody after suspicious death in Eskasoni: RCMP

Two men have been taken into custody following a suspicious death on a reserve in Cape Breton, according to police.

Nova Scotia RCMP say they were called to a residence on Mini Mall Drive in Eskasoni, N.S., just before midnight on Thursday.

Police say a 33-year-old man was found unresponsive and suffering from life-threatening injuries.

CPR was performed but the man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

The two men were taken into custody at the scene. RCMP and their Northeast Major Crimes Unit is leading the investigation.

Teenage son in custody, charged with killing mother

(WVLT) — Two separate sources have confirmed to WVLT News that Friday morning’s officer-involved shooting in Sevierville and the discovery of a body in an Alcoa apartment are linked.

The suspect has been released from the hospital and is at the Blount County Correctional Facility. A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office says the investigation is ongoing.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says Johnathon Sellers, 18, was shot by officers with Pigeon Forge Police Friday morning. Just after 4 a.m., Pigeon Force Officers tried to pull over Sellers for suspicion of DUI along the Parkway.

Sellers led officers on a chase into Gatlinburg, drove back to Pigeon Forge, then crossed into the Sevierville city limits. Officers used a spike strip to stop Sellers vehicle.
