Sheriff: Estranged Husband a Person of Interest in Suspicious Death

CRESCENT CITY, Calif. — The case of a missing woman in Del Norte County has taken on new dimensions after the discovery of an as-yet unidentified body at her home. The Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office (DNSO) is now seeking her estranged husband for questioning.

The grandmother of 31-year-old Emiley Hughes reported her missing on February 1 after saying that she had not heard from Hughes since around December 23.

DNSO said that they entered Hughes into the missing persons system and created a flyer at the time, sending it to other local agencies and distributing it on social media.

As the investigation began, DNSO said that they were contacted by Hughes’ mother Rawnda, who corroborated the grandmother’s account. But the next day, Rawnda called back and indicated that she had heard from Hughes, who was “alive and well.”

Person of interest ID’d in shooting deaths of 3 people at Chuluota home

Kissimmee police search for person of interest in suspicious death


KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Kissimmee police are searching for a person of interest after a woman was found dead outside a motel. 

Investigators on Tuesday released a picture of Denise Stanziale. Police say Stanziale knew Dana Stewart and may have some information that could help in their investigation.

NY police: Grandson a person of interest in suspicious death

BEEKMANTOWN, N.Y. (WCAX) Police are now calling a death in the North Country suspicious and they say they have a person of interest in the case.

New York State Police say Ginger Clark, 73, was found dead in her Beekmantown home Thursday. Police did not release details about her death but said it is considered suspicious and her body will be sent for an autopsy.

Clark’s grandson, Gustavo Segundo-Clark, lived with her. And police say Segundo-Clark is a person of interest in their investigation. They say he has been interviewed but no charges have been filed against him. They say Segundo-Clark is in custody for violating the terms of his parole. They did not say exactly what he did to break parole.

Police say the investigation is still underway.

State police seek person of interest in connection with homicide

State police in Adams County are searching for a person of interest who may be connected with the suspicious death of a woman.

According to a news release, state police in Gettysburg are investigating the death of 87-year-old Virginia Barbour, who was found dead Wednesday in a home on the 100 block of Peach Glen Idaville Road in Huntington Township, Adams County.

According to police, troopers were called to the home to conduct a welfare check, and, when they arrived, they found Barbour dead inside. Police then conducted an investigation and determined that “unknown actors” entered the home and then fled the scene.

State police said the woman’s death was the result of a criminal homicide.

An updated news release Friday indicates at least six long guns, a .44 caliber pistol, and $1,600 in statehood rolled quarters were taken from the residence. A silver 2012 Chevrolet Impala

UPDATE: Person of interest identified in suspicious death of Bradenton woman

BRADENTON, FL (WWSB) – Manatee County detectives have determined Nelson Navarro, 46, is a person of interest in the death of Maria De Jesus. 

Maria Isabel De Jesus, 37, was found at the Centre Court Apartments on 52nd Pl W on Monday, September 3. Deputies found her lying in the grass, bleeding. She had bruises and other injuries and was taken to the hospital.

De Jesus passed away from her injuries on Saturday, September 8 after taking a turn for the worse.

According to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, Navarro was the longtime boyfriend of De Jesus and fled the area near the time she was found with severe injuries. 

Deputies say Navarro was arrested on a MCSO warrant for Grand Theft Auto and remains in jail in Georgia. Navarro has not been charged in connection with Maria’s death.
