SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A 57-year-old man was found dead under suspicious circumstances Monday in a neighborhood near Marian Bear Memorial Park.
The fatality in the 5300 block of Bothe Avenue in University City was reported about 6:15 a.m., according to San Diego Police Department public- affairs Officer Billy Hernandez.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and due to the circumstances of the death, homicide detectives were called in to investigate, according to Hernandez, who said a possible suspect in the case was taken into custody for questioning.
The detainee’s identity was not immediately available.
Detectives are investigating a suspicious death in Little Rock on Monday morning, authorities said.
Officers were dispatched to 1501 Elm St. at about 10:45 a.m. on an “unknown trouble call,” according to Little Rock police dispatch logs.
Once there, authorities found a deceased male, whose death is being regarded as suspicious, police said. Little Rock police spokesman Officer Eric Barnes said authorities were gathering more information.
An official at the Pulaski County coroner’s office said she didn’t have any information about the death Monday morning.

SHAWNEE COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are now investigating the suspicious death of a Kansas man and have identified the victim.

Just before 10a.m. Monday, police were dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of SW Wayne in Topeka in reference to the discovery of the body of a man in the house, according to Lt. Andrew Beightel.
Officers located the body identified as 36-year-old John K. Waller and he was pronounced dead by medical personnel.
There were several suspicious circumstances witnessed by the responding officers so, the residence was secured and crime scene officers and detectives investigated the scene.
Through evidence found at the crime scene and information from the coroner’s office, police are investigating this crime as a homicide
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) — The Topeka Police Dept. continues to investigate the death of a 36-year-old man found dead Monday morning inside a central Topeka home.
According to police, officers found John K. Waller’s body inside the house, in the 700 block of SW Wayne Ave., near Children’s Park, around 9:45 a.m.
The officers reportedly noticed “several suspicious circumstances” that led them to bring in detectives and crime scene investigators.
TPD says they are investigating his death as a homicide.

The death of a woman found unconscious in Mid-City is being investigated as homicide, the Los Angeles Police Department said Thursday.
The woman, who has only been described as being in her 40s, was found near Pico and Crenshaw boulevards, Officer Jeff Lee said. Police were called to the scene about 12:57 a.m.
No information about any possible injuries or cause of death has been released by LAPD. But Lee said police were investigating the incident as a “suspicious death” and later said it was deemed a homicide.
No other details have been released.

ORIGINAL: A woman found dead in her south Fargo apartment on May 27 is described as ‘suspicious’ in search warrants filed recently.
According to documents, Fargo Police were sent to 3331 15th Ave. S in Fargo after a man called 911 to report that he found his live-in girlfriend dead with a phone cord around her neck in a bedroom closet.
The man told police that he and his girlfriend had been together since December 2018, but was getting tired of dealing with her alcohol and drug use. He also made statements such as ‘he was trying to get rid of her’ and said he was trying to send her back to New York.
