Suspicious Death Investigation in West Hazleton – WNEP Scranton/Wilkes


WEST HAZLETON, Pa. — Officials are investigating a suspicious death in Luzerne County.

Police found a body in a home on East Green Street in West Hazleton around 5 p.m. Wednesday when they were called for a welfare check.

Authorities are not sure if the badly decomposed body is that of a man or woman.

Initially, police believed the death was due to natural causes, but during the investigation, they found reason to suspect the death was suspicious. Investigators are waiting on lab results and toxicology tests.

Pennsylvania State Police and the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office are also investigating.

Police are checking for any nearby cameras and talking to neighbors.

Schenectady Police detain man in Maplewood Avenue homicide investigation

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Police officially charged the man detained in connection to a Schenectady homicide with Murder.

Budhnarain Kadar, 41, of Schenectady, was charged with Murder in the Second Degree in the death of 35-year-old Marian Singh.

Police were called to the 800-block of Maplewood Avenue around 10 p.m. Wednesday for a report of unknown trouble. People at the scene alerted officers to a woman in the upstairs apartment who appeared to be deceased.

Officers found the woman and called for medics from the Schenectady Fire Department.

Upon arrival, medical personnel pronounced the woman dead. She has been identified as Singh, though she also goes by Marian Loftis.

On Thursday, preliminary autopsy results ruled her death a homicide.

Kadar was arrested after an investigation by Schenectady police with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals New York/New Jersey Fugitive Task Force.

He will be arraigned on Saturday in Schenectady City Court.

Coroner identifies 63-year-old victim following suspicious death investigation in Dorchester County

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Deputies with the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office is currently working an incident near Beidler Forest.

Karen Yarborough, 63, of Summerville was discovered near a wooded area today in Dorchester County, the victim of an apparent homicide, according to Coroner Paul J. Brouthers.

Sergeant Richard Carson stated that earlier today authorities received a report of a body being located along Harrison Road in Dorchester.

It is being investigated as a suspicious death, Carson added.

The Summerville Police Department, Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office, and Dorchester County Coroner’s Office are investigating.

Police Conducting Suspicious Death Investigation After Body Found In Stockton

STOCKTON (CBS13) — Police are investigating the suspicious death of a man found in Stockton.

Officers were called to the 600 block of Oak Street near Edison Street just before 10 a.m. Saturday morning.

No other information regarding possible suspects, motive or the deceased is known at this time.

APD Opens Suspicious Death Investigation at Boston Street/DeBarr Road Camp

Anchorage police say they have opened a suspicious death investigation after a man was found deceased in a camp in a wooded area south of the intersection of Boston Street and DeBarr Road at approximately 8:30 pm on Thursday night.

When police responded to a citizen’s report indicating a body, police pronounced the victim at the scene.

APD says that the cause of death is still under investigation but also report that the death appears suspicious in nature. Homicide detectives and a Crime Scene Unit are conducting a thorough investigation. They have not released any further details in the case.

Police are asking members of the public with information on the incident to call 3-1-1. APD is also looking for surveillance video.

Man’s suspicious death of under investigation, Florence police say

FLORENCE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) — Florence police say they are investigating the suspicious death of a man found lying in a road.

Somebody called 911 at about 11 p.m. on Monday to report an unconscious man in the street of a neighborhood near Park and Stewart streets.

That man, later identified as 39-year-old William Lewis, was taken to Banner Ironwood Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

Investigators have contacted his family.

While they don’t know how he came to be in the street, police say they believe Lewis suffered blunt force trauma to the back of his neck and shoulder areas before his death. It will be up to the medical examiner to determine how he died.

Investigators are asking for the public’s help on this case.
