COLD CASE: Frederick mother still questions son’s “suspicious” death 16 years later

FREDERICK, Md (WDVM) — A Frederick County, Maryland mother is still trying to make sense of a killing that stole her son 16 years ago. Frederick County deputies called the murder suspicious.

Inside Terry Horman’s home, her son’s photos and mementos are on display. Just beside, is a collection of newspaper articles that chronicle his murder.

“It was gory. It’s brutal, it’s brutal to take a life
like that, [in] cold blood,” explained Horman.

The 16-year nightmare that has consumed Horman began on the
night before her son, Joshua Crawford’s 21st birthday. It was July 2nd,
2003.

 She wanted to come by
his apartment on Exeter court in Frederick to celebrate.

“I was trying to get in touch with him so I could say
‘Hey, I want to stop over and bring cake, chocolate cake, chocolate ice cream,’
because that was his favorite,” said Horman.

His mother’s calls throughout the day and

Teen Girl, Baby Sister Found Dead Inside Ontario Home; Mother Hospitalized

ONTARIO (CBSLA) — A homicide investigation is underway after a teenage girl and her baby sister were found dead inside their Ontario home Tuesday night.

Ontario police said the father of the girls — a 14-year-old and a 4-month-old — called police after finding their bodies in the home at around 5 p.m. in the 500 block of Tam O’Shanter Street. Their mother was found unresponsive in the home and was taken to the hospital, where she was last listed in stable condition with minor injuries.

Ontario police officials originally called it a suspicious death investigation, and later said they believe the girls were murdered inside the home.

Hours after the incident, they were still interviewing family members, trying to figure out what happened.

“It does not appear that there was any kind of noxious fumes involved,” Ontario police Sgt. Bill Russell told reporters.

The father of the girls was interviewed by police and released.

Police Investigating Suspicious Deaths of 2 Ontario Children; Mother Hospitalized

A teen girl and her infant sister were found dead and their mother was found unresponsive at a home in Ontario Tuesday, officials said.

The girls’ father called 911 around 4 p.m. to report unknown trouble at the residence on the 500 block of East Tam O’Shanter Street, said Ontario Police Sgt. Bill Russell.

The deaths of the 14-year-old and 4-month-old were being investigated as suspicious, police said.

The unresponsive mother was hospitalized with “slight injuries” and later listed in stable condition, Russell said. The sergeant did not describe the nature of the woman’s injuries and said he wasn’t sure how they were sustained.

“Because she was unresponsive, I don’t know if that was an internal thing or something that was done externally,” he said.

Police wouldn’t say if there was any sign of a struggle, but Russell did say there weren’t any noticeable noxious fumes in the air.

“This is highly unusual,” the sergeant said.

St. Louis Man Finds Baby’s Body In Box In Mother’s Freezer; ‘I Just Have So Many Thoughts. It’s Insane’

(CNN) — Adam Smith said he’s known about the white cardboard box in his mother’s freezer his entire life.

He assumed it held a wedding cake topper or another memento that his mother was holding onto and left it at that, he told CNN.

Now that he knows what was really in the box, he said he is struggling to comprehend how she kept it to herself all these years.

Smith, 37, called police early Sunday morning and reported finding a dead infant in the box.

St. Louis police said they are investigating the discovery as a “suspicious death” pending an autopsy and asked the public for tips. The St. Louis Medical Examiner’s office said the investigation is ongoing and would

Siblings demand answers after mother’s suspicious death in northern Minnesota nursing home

According to siblings Jackie and Jeffery Thielen, their mother Bev Thielen was found in her bed with unexplained bruises on the morning of July 11. She died on July 16, age 79.

The siblings told the nursing home board Tuesday about their mother, who had been a resident of the facility since July 18, 2018 and suffered from dementia. Jeffery Thielen said Diane George, the director of nursing, called him early July 11.

“I was told that an aide had went into mom’s room when she was awake, attempted to lift her up, and she hollered out in pain,” Jeffery Thielen said.

On further examination, the aide found a large bruise on Bev’s temple. The aide summoned the nurse on duty, and they did a full body exam.

“She had bruises from her temple, all the way down the left side of her body,” said
