Police ID Appleton shooting victim as Green Bay man, more photos released

APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) – Appleton police say an autopsy confirms a 47-year-old man found dead Sunday morning died from multiple gunshot wounds. Police identified him Tuesday afternoon as Bobby Higgs. He was from Green Bay.

Police were called to check on the welfare of a man who wasn’t responding in a building on the 500-block of W. Johnston St. at 5:40 a.m. Officers arrived and found Higgs was already dead.

According to a statement from Appleton police, they’ve learned there was a gathering in the basement earlier, and there was “some type of disturbance… between several individuals and multiple gunshots occurred.”

So far, no one has been charged in connection with the case.

Suspicious death, shooting in Dryden

LAPEER — A 37 year-old Ferndale man, Lydell Dukes, has been charged in the shooting death of Jason Stefanski whose body was found in a Dryden Township ditch on Sunday morning.

At a joint press conference Wednesday, September 11, Lapeer County Sheriff Scott McKenna, Dryden Township Police Chief Shawn Peters and Lapeer County Prosecutor Mike Sharkey provided new details in the investigation and announced multiple charges leveled against Dukes.

Stefanski’s body was found along Hollow Corners Road by police who had responded to the area when residents reported hearing multiple gun shots shortly before 3 a.m.  A third man, Nicholas Palazzolo, who was shot and injured that night, remains hospitalized in stable condition.

Suspicious death, shooting in Lapeer County being investigated by police

LAPEER COUNTY, MI – Law enforcement officials are investigating how a 35-year-old man ended up dead in a ditch and why a second man was pleading for help from a homeowner after being shot in rural Lapeer County.

A 911 call was received shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 8 by Lapeer County Central Dispatch from a resident in the 3300 block of Hollow Corners Road in Dryden Township, southeast of Lapeer.

Dryden Township Police Chief Shawn Peters said that’s where the homeowner and his wife were awoken by what they believed to be 15-20 gunshots in the area.

They observed a 29-year-old man in their backyard a short time after motion lights came on.

Peters said the man, whose name has not been released, was told to stay on the ground but “made some reference that he needed some help.”

Soldier on Leave Fatally Wounded in Lompoc’s Latest Shooting

A soldier on leave from the U.S. Army became Lompoc’s sixth homicide victim of 2019 when he was fatally wounded in a shooting early Sunday.

At 1:53 a.m., personnel from the Lompoc Police and Fire departments responded to the area of Ocean Avenue and A Street for a report of a shooting, police Sgt. Vincent Magallon said. 

Officers found a man on the ground with multiple gunshots injuries. 

Despite lifesaving measures by police, firefighters and paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene, Magallon said.

Police identified the shooting victim as Marlon Brumfield, 22, of Lompoc. 

Brumfield served in the Army and was on leave from Germany for the month visiting home when he was killed walking down the street, Magallon said.

This is Lompoc’s sixth homicide since March. 

On July 1, a 25-year-old man, identified as Deandre LeJames Valrie, was killed in a gang-related shooting on the 600 block of North Fourth

UPDATE: APD release the name of shooting victim killed on Aug. 30

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) — Update
Anchorage Police have identified a man detectives believe was shot and killed on Aug. 30.

Police say the victim is 19-years-old Lamore Lapitre.

Anchorage Police were investigating what they are calling a suspicious death Friday night.

In a news release, police say around 7:40 p.m., dispatch received a report of a person with a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the 5600 block of Alora Loop.

APD said when officers with the Patrol Division arrived, they found an adult male with a gunshot wound to the upper body inside a residence. Officers administered life-saving measures until the Anchorage Fire Department arrived. The victim was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police say several people have been detained for questioning.

Bakersfield Police Department: Suspect arrested in fatal shooting of woman in SW Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — UPDATE: A man is behind bars suspected of shooting a woman in her home Monday morning.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department and the corner’s office, 37-year-old Sumandeep Kaur Kooner was found shot to death inside her home on Monache Meadows Drive in southwest Bakersfield. It happened around 11:30 a.m. Monday.

Less than 12 hours later the BPD announced they arrested 65-year-old Jagjit Singh, Kooner’s father-in-law, in connection to the shooting. He was booked Monday night into Kern County jail on murder charges.

He’s due in court on Wednesday morning.

On Monday, the Bakersfield Police Department said that it is investigating a deadly shooting in Southwest Bakersfield.

According to officials they were dispatched to the area of 3200 Monache Meadows Drive around 11:30 a.m. When officers arrived they reportedly found a dead woman suffering from a gunshot wound.

TPD investigating shooting death on South Monroe Street

Public information officer Damon Miller says the body was found in between Baker’s Place Plaza on South Adams Street and the building behind it on South Monroe Street.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) — The Tallahassee Police Department investigated a death near the 1900 block of South Monroe Street Tuesday morning.

At around 1:37 am, officers arrived to the area and found a dead body. Officers discovered the victim was shot before they died.

Public information officer Damon Miller says the body was found in between Baker’s Place Plaza on South Adams Street and the building behind it on South Monroe Street.

Resident Krystal Green said she heard the gunshots and is upset there’s been another shooting in the area.

The victim was 34-year-old Alex Harvey, his family confirmed to WCTV. Family members also told WCTV Harvey had just gotten off
