Troopers say the death occurred between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21 — the night before Thanksgiving — near College Road and Aurora Drive.

AST released video from a surveillance camera showing a white Volvo SUV pulling a rolled up piece of carpeting down what appears to be a driveway onto College Road near the Aurora subdivision.

That vehicle was found crashed on Ballaine Road later on Nov. 21.

AST asks that anyone with information about either incident, or who may have seen anyone leaving the scene of the accident on Ballaine Road, to call Alaska State Troopers at 907-451-5100.

Troopers suspect narcotics involved in ‘suspicious’ death

INTERLOCHEN — A downstate man found dead in Green Lake Township has been identified.

Michigan State Police said an ice fisherman on Tuesday discovered Marc Ruben, 62, of Farmington Hills, lying dead near a boat launch. Grand Traverse County Prosecutor Bob Cooney labeled his death “suspicious” and troopers believe narcotics to be involved.

The precise cause of Ruben’s death remains unknown as the investigation continues. Troopers said pending toxicology results should shed additional light on the circumstances that led to his death. Initial autopsy results showed no signs of trauma or assault, according to a release.

Grand Traverse sheriff’s Lt. Brian Giddis said deputies hours later responded to a medical emergency call at a nearby home. Deputies found a 32-year-old man having a seizure and arrested a 30-year-old Traverse City woman at the scene for an outstanding warrant.

Troopers noted the woman had contact with Ruben earlier in the day. She was later booked

19-year-old’s ‘suspicious’ death still baffling Troopers

Alaska State Troopers haven’t disclosed any new details of an investigation into the suspicious death of a 19-year-old Kake woman found not breathing at home last month. But recent comments provided to the Empire from the deceased’s family show that the woman is a former Juneau resident.

What authorities are disclosing so far is scant.

According to an Aug. 17 Trooper dispatch, Jade Daya Williams was found not breathing in her Kake home on Aug. 15. Emergency medical services in Kake responded to the call, which they received at 9:25 p.m. that night. Troopers did not disclose the identity of the caller.

Williams was taken to a Southeast Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) clinic in Kake where she was pronounced dead. Alaska State Troopers were unable to respond to the death until the following day due to weather.
