Suspicious death investigation underway in Hinesburg

Police are currently investigating a suspicious death in near Hinesburg.

The Hinesburg Police Department says it received a call reporting a “suspicious” vehicle Thursday night, and a man’s body was found at approximately 11 p.m.

The body was found at a hiking trail parking lot on Gilman Road, near Honey Hill Road.

The victim’s name will not be released until police notify the family, according to Vermont State Police.

State troopers have taken over the investigation.

Gilman Road remains closed between Rt. 116 and Hines Rd while the investigation is underway.

Police said the area is safe to the public, but they do urge people to stay alert.

Death Investigation Underway Near Mission Valley Bike Path

San Diego police were investigating a suspicious death underneath a Mission Valley bridge and near a bike path Thursday.

A body was found submerged in water underneath a bridge along San Diego Mission Road across from SDCCU Stadium overnight, prompting a response from SDPD.

Officers had to use a rope, provided by firefighters, to climb down to where the body was found, SDPD Sgt. Paul Conley said. 

The cause of death was not immediately obvious so detectives were called, a homicide sergeant told NBC 7.

After further investigating the body, SDPD said there were not obvious signs of trauma. They were unable to determine the gender or identity of the person. 

The sergeant did not confirm if the death was being investigated as a homicide.

Suspicious death investigation underway in Parlier

The Fresno County Sheriffs Office is investigating a suspicious death in the city of Parlier.

We have confirmed that deputies were dispatched to a home on the 14000 block of East Manning Wednesday night at around 7 p.m.

When deputies entered the home, they found a body inside.

The cause of death isn’t known, but the death is being investigated as being suspicious in nature. Investigators are on scene trying to determine what happened.

Suspicious death investigation underway after 87-year-old woman found dead in north county home

ST. LOUIS COUNTY – An investigation is underway after a woman was found dead inside a north county home Wednesday morning.

Police responded to the 4300 block of Keevenshore Drive around 8:22 a.m. where a woman in her 80s was found dead. Police said she was suffering from an apparent head injury.

The woman has been identified as 87-year-old Barbara Mabrey.

“She was a beautiful lady, always kind and warm thoughts, loved to garden,” neighbor Mark Holmes said of Mabrey. “I like coming home to this neighborhood, and neighbors like her made it an enjoyable experience

‘Suspicious death’ investigation underway after body found in vacant North City lot

NORTH ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – A man was found dead in a vacant north St. Louis lot Wednesday evening.

The body was found in the 8300 block of Church around 5:15 p.m.

Police said they have currently classified the incident as a “suspicious death” pending an autopsy.

Body found in Reston, suspicious death investigation underway

Reports of gunshots in Reston, Virginia, led to the discovery of a man’s body in the early morning hours on Sunday.

Fairfax County police said gunshots were reported near Hunter Woods Plaza around 2 a.m. and shortly after the body of a man was found.

Officers canvassed the surrounding neighborhoods throughout the morning. Police are treating the incident as a suspicious death investigation.

Suspicious death investigation underway after 11-year-old girl found shot to death

ST. LOUIS – A suspicious death investigation is underway after an 11-year-old girl was shot to death in St. Louis’ Carr Square neighborhood late Monday night.

Police responded to the 1500 block of N. 20th around 11:40 p.m. where Charnija Keys was found shot in the head. She was transported to a hospital where she died.

St. Louis police said the child abuse unit and homicide detectives responded to the scene.

No other details have been made available.

On Sunday night, a 3-year-old girl was shot and killed in a drive-by in St. Louis’ Mount Pleasant neighborhood. A 6-year-old was also injured in the shooting.

Suspicious death investigation underway in Worcester after body found in van

WORCESTER (WHDH) – Worcester police launched a suspicious death investigation Wednesday after a dead body was found inside a van in the parking lot of a local tow yard, officials said.

Officers responding to a report of a possible dead body at Early’s Towing on Park Avenue about 2:20 p.m. found a deceased person inside a van that had been towed to Early’s after being found in the parking lot of 645 Park Ave., according to Worcester police.

The owner of that lot said he called the tow company after the van sat there untouched for about two weeks.

The body has been turned over to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, which will conduct an autopsy in the hopes of identifying the victim and their cause of death.

A witness who said they could see inside the van said the body was inside a plastic storage container.
