UPDATE: Man found in Winnebago Co. died from several gunshot wounds

WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Ill. (WIFR) — Updated: Dec. 12, 2018, 3:25 p.m.

The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office says Jamie Stephens, whose body was found in rural Winnebago County on Monday, died from several gunshot wounds.

The preliminary cause of Stephen’s death was announced after an autopsy.

The investigation continues for the death.

The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office confirmed the identity a man whose body was found on the rural outskirts of the county Monday afternoon.

Jamie Stephens, 31, of Rockford, was identified as the victim.

The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate the death as part of a murder investigation. Officials believe the body was intentionally left behind at 9200 Knapp Rd.

UPDATE: Fairbanks man charged with first degree murder in suspicious death investigation

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) — Update: Friday, Dec. 7, 7:40 p.m.:
A Fairbanks man was arrested in Anchorage and charged with first degree murder in the Nov. 21 death of 56-year-old Jose Raul Santiago in Fairbanks.

On Tuesday, Alaska State Troopers released surveillance video showing a white Volvo SUV pulling a rolled up piece of carpeting down a driveway onto College Road near the Aurora subdivision.

That vehicle was later found crashed around mile 2.2 of Ballaine Road. Santiago was believed to have driving the vehicle when it left the road, entered an an embankment, and crashed into an elevated driveway, according to an AST dispatch from Nov. 21. Investigators determined that Santiago had been ejected into the passenger’s side floor board and died as a result of those injuries.

UPDATE: Columbia County deputies investigating suspicious death

Lake City, Fla. (WCJB)– Columbia County deputies are asking for the public’s help on a homicide investigation.

They are asking for anyone who saw or interacted with Patricia Woods commonly called Patty between Friday, November 30th in the afternoon after 2:00 pm to Tuesday, December 4th around 2:00 pm to contact the department.

Columbia County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Sands Motel in Lake City Tuesday afternoon to do a welfare check on 60-year-old Patricia Wood.
After receiving no answer at her door, deputies discovered Wood’s dead body inside the room.

Investigators will have a better idea of how and when Wood died once they receive a report from the Jacksonville medical examiner.

In the meantime, deputies say they’ll continue to try to find answers for the community.

Update: West Monroe police arrest 1 during death investigation

WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE) – One person has been arrested during an investigation into a suspicious death in West Monroe.

According to West Monroe PD, they discovered the body at 103 Riverbend Drive in West Monroe. This area is near the Ouachita River, just south of Interstate 20.

Police say they were contacted about the death Monday morning at 8:51 a.m. They say their initial investigation led them to believe ” suspicious circumstances were present.” Police say that during their investigation, they found multiple cuts on the victim. At this time, the investigation shows that the cuts were made after the victim died. Police arrested Shomari Clemons on a charge of mutilating, disinterring human remains.

According to an arrest affidavit for Clemons, the deceased had a cut to her left wrist and several suspicious marks on her thighs. Clemons told police that when he learned of his grandmother’s

The Richmond County Coroner has released new details after investigating a suspicious death on Mill Street. The Coroner said the victim is 40 year old Damien T. Jenkins.

He said Jenkins was found dead inside his home with at least one stab wound. An autopsy will be done on Monday by the GBI crime lab in Atlanta.

UPDATE: Deputies: No foul play suspected after body found in Putnam County – WSAZ

PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) — UPDATE 11/17/18 @ 2:35 P.M.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department says that no foul play is suspected after a woman’s body was found earlier Saturday morning.

Her body was found by a neighbor on Poca River Road in the Lanham area.

Originally the Sheriff’s department was investigating the death as suspicious, but upon further investigation they now believe that no foul play is involved.

A woman’s body was discovered in Putnam County early Saturday morning, according to deputies.

Deputies say the death is suspicious.

The body was discovered by a neighbor along Poca River Road South in the Lanham area.

Deputies say the body was discovered near a car. The neighbor who called 911 noticed the car Friday but didn’t believe it was suspicious until they saw the car was still there Saturday morning, according to deputies.

UPDATE: Victim identified in suspicious death incident

DANVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) — Police say the man found deceased on South St. Tuesday afternoon has been identified as 69-year-old Benjamin Anthony Hairston.

Police in Danville say they are investigating an incident which resulted in a suspicious death Tuesday.

At approximately 4:19 p.m., officers were called to a residence in the 1600 block of South St. for a report of an unresponsive male. Upon arrival, police say they discovered a deceased male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Police say the incident is being investigated as a homicide.

UPDATE: Police investigate suspicious death of 2-month-old; autopsy results inconclusive – WNDU

COLOMA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WNDU) Police are investigating the suspicious death of a 2-month-old baby in Berrien County.

On Monday, officers were dispatched to a medical call at Ravine View Estates in Coloma Township. That’s located at 5100 Little Paw Paw Lake Road.

A 2-month-old was taken to an area hospital and then transferred to a hospital in Kalamazoo.

Officers found the situation to be suspicious, according to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office, so detectives were called to investigate.

The baby died Tuesday evening.

After initial reports from the doctor who treated the child, Scott Nathaniel Skinner was arrested on suspicion of child abuse and neglect.

An autopsy was performed Wednesday, but the preliminary autopsy report was inconclusive regarding the cause of death, and further medical testing is required.

Because additional testing is necessary to determine cause of death, the Berrien County Prosecutor’s Office did not authorize official charges against Skinner.
