Oakland: Police investigate suspicious death – East Bay Times

OAKLAND — Police said they are investigating a suspicious death that occurred Friday night near Lake Merritt.

A male victim with a bullet wound was found at about 9:20 p.m. in the 1200 block of Lakeshore Avenue at the shore of Lake Merritt.

He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, Officer Wesley Huynh said. Police have not ruled it a homicide and continue to investigate the circumstances.

His name has not been released.

Police investigate suspicious death in Bay Park

SAN DIEGO – An unidentified woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances Thursday in a Bay Park-area alley, authorities reported.

The body was discovered off the 1900 block of Morena Boulevard shortly before 1 p.m., according to San Diego police.

Patrol officers investigated, then called in homicide detectives to determine the nature of the fatality, Lt. Mike Holden said.

Officials did not immediately disclose why the death appeared suspicious.

Roommate remains jailed following suspicious death

 

CANTON — A Massena man who was arrested after his roommate was found dead in their apartment early Thursday is still being held in St. Lawrence County jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond, according to jail officials.

Keith J. Bjork, 50, of 192 Center St., was picked up on a bench warrant for allegedly violating probation after his roommate, Dumar Buckner, was found dead in the bathroom, village police said.

Mr. Bjork was also charged by village police with third-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief, both misdemeanors, jail officials said Saturday.

The investigation is continuing.

An investigation is underway after a man was found dead in a southwest Topeka home.

According to a news release from Topeka Police Lt. Shane Hilton, officers responded at 4 p.m. Thursday to the home in the 4800 block of SW 17th Street regarding a medical call. Emergency medical personnel declared the adult male dead at the scene. 

Police are considering his death to be suspicious. 

Detectives remained at the home to investigate the incident. No other information has been released at this time.

Aiken Public Safety, SLED investigating ‘suspicious’ death | News …

The Aiken Department of Public Safety is investigating the death of a 25-year-old Aiken man found shot to death this week inside of a Marlboro Street home.

Police responded to 149 Marlboro St. at 10:42 p.m. Thursday, where they found the victim lying in the front room of the home, according to a police report.

Police reported the victim was suffering from a gunshot wound.

Capt. David Turno, with Aiken Public Safety, said investigators have reported the death to be suspicious due to evidence found at the scene.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is assisting Public Safety in the investigation, Turno said.

The Aiken County Coroner’s Office has not released the victim’s name.

Discovery of woman’s body sparks suspicious death investigation

Columbia police were called to the 800 block of Cindy Drive Friday for a welfare check where they found a woman’s body.

An autopsy is planned by Richland County coroner Gary Watts on Saturday to determine cause of death. At the moment, the death is being considered suspicious, the police said on the @ColumbiaPDSC twitter account.

Topeka police investigating suspicious death – KSNT News

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – The Topeka Police Department are currently investigating a suspicious death of a man in Topeka.

TPD reports officers were sent to a residence at 4:07 Thursday afternoon in the 4800 block of SW 17th in reference to a medical call for service. EMS declared an adult male deceased at the scene.

Police say an investigation is ongoing.

Body Found in Bay Park, Homicide Detectives Investigating as …

Homicide detectives are investigating a possible suspicious death in the Bay Park neighborhood of San Diego after a woman’s body was found Thursday afternoon.

San Diego Police (SDPD) received a call around 1 p.m. of an unresponsive person in the east alley of the 1900 block of Morena Boulevard. When officers arrived on scene, the woman was pronounced dead.

SDPD Homicide detectives were called to the scene and are investigating this as a suspicious death.
