UPDATED: Suspicious death now called a homicide | News | WIN 98.5 – WNWN

COOPER TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) —   Kalamazoo County Detectives are now calling the death of a woman found dumped in a field on the northern edge of Cooper Township a homicide and released the name of the victim.

Undersheriff Pauli Matyas says an autopsy has confirmed the identity of the victim as 36-year-old Kelly Ann Karl, a white female who had resided in Kalamazoo. The autopsy apparently also confirmed their suspicions that foul play was involved.

Her body was recovered from a remote location in the 3000 Block of West AB Avenue Thursday morning.

Services will be held Thursday at 11 am at the Betzler Life Story Funeral Home on Stadium Drive.

 A person of interest remains jailed on unrelated charges, and the investigation continues. The name of that person has not been released by County Detectives.
