Probe into suspicious Billerica death continues

BILLERICA — Police and investigators from the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office continue to investigate the suspicious death of a 30-year-old Lowell man who was found in Billerica last week, but so far have no updates to release to the public.

Meghan Kelly, a spokeswoman for District Attorney Marian Ryan, said the probe remains ongoing as investigators await a ruling from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on the cause and manner of death.

Police and prosecutors have called the death suspicious, but that does not mean it was a homicide. That determination will be made by the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office.

Kelly said the name of the 30-year-old will not be released until that ruling has been made, because the ruling could affect whether the dead man’s name is released to public.
