Cause of suspicious death at Grand Blanc Township home remains unknown

GRAND BLANC TWP, MI – Police are still trying to determine the cause of death after a 53-year-old woman was found Sunday afternoon inside a Grand Blanc Township home.

Firefighters and officers responded around 4:30 p.m. Feb. 11 to the 2300 block of Southampton Avenue, between Fern and Frank avenues, off Saginaw Street for a call of a natural gas leak and an unconscious person.

The woman, whose name has not been released, was found inside the home by a family member. Police labeled her death as suspicious.

Grand Blanc Township police Chief Ron Wiles said the Michigan State Police Crime Lab was called in Sunday night to assist in “finding any potential evidence that will show us the way and lead us in the right direction on what happened at the residence.”
