Suspicious death ruled as homicide, Council Bluffs officials say

A suspicious Council Bluffs death was been ruled a homicide, according to officials.

Police identified the body of David Randall Simpson, 34, a homeless man, as the victim of the homicide.

Council Bluffs police are investigating after Simpson’s body was discovered Monday by a man who was walking his dog.

Officers responded to a vacant property near West Broadway Avenue and South 10th Street following the report of a dead body, police said in a news release.

The body was discovered in a grass lot north of the building.

An autopsy determined the cause of a death was by blunt force trauma.

WORCESTER, MA—Police are investigating a car that was found burned in Worcester with a body inside, according to multiple reports.

Police are “investigating a suspicious death,” reports Fox 25 News, but did not offer any further details other than the District Attorney is investigating.

According to WCVB news, police confirmed that a death in Hope Cemetery appeared to be suspicious, a body found in a burned car.

Manchester police investigate suspicious death of 2-year-old boy

The state Attorney General’s Office and Manchester police are investigating the suspicious death of a 2-year-old boy.

Officials said police found an unconscious child Monday morning at a home on Howe Street. The boy was taken to Elliot Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators said the boy’s death appears to be suspicious, but no other details have been released. Neighbors said they were shocked to hear the news.

“It’s very surprising, very sad,” neighbor Alex Lavoie said. “I heard it was a young child, 2 years old. I never had any problems with them next door. They seem like nice people. I’ve only seen them when they are hanging outside.”

An autopsy is planned Tuesday.

Police are investigating a suspicious death following a medical call outside West Sacramento City Hall on Sunday afternoon.

West Sacramento police Sgt. Roger Kinney said the fire department responded to a medical aid call involving a 58-year-old woman at 1110 West Capitol Ave. around 2:30 p.m. The woman, who was located on a bench outside City Hall, was transported to a Sacramento hospital, where she died.

Kinney said crime scene investigators were dispatched to the scene to probe a possible homicide “out of an abundance of caution” due to the circumstances surrounding the death. He declined to provide further details.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will conduct an autopsy and determine the cause of death, Kinney said. The identity of the victim has not been released to the public at this time.
