Police Investigating After Body Found Near Creek

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) – Police in Colorado Springs are investigating what they are calling a suspicious death.

A man’s body was found along the bank of Fountain Creek, under the bridge at 400 East Fountain Boulevard, on Sunday morning.

“Detectives with the Violent Crimes unit have responded to investigate this incident as a suspicious death,” police stated.

The investigation was expected to have the westbound lanes of the 400 block of E. Fountain Blvd. closed until approximately 7 p.m. Sunday.

Man in custody, police investigating suspicious death after woman found dead in KCMO home

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police are investigating a suspicious death Wednesday after officers found a woman dead in a KCMO home.

KC Police Officer Darin Snapp said officers were called to a home in the 2400 block of College Avenue for a welfare check. When they arrived, they found a woman in her 40’s with no signs of life.

Snapp said the cause of her death is currently unknown but appears suspicious.

A man who was at the home is in police custody, he said.

Suspicious circumstances are being investigated after a man was found dead following a fire that broke out in a 10 foot by 10 foot shed in East Los Angeles on Friday, officials said.

Ground crews first responded to reports of a blaze in the 600 block of Fetterly Avenue around 9:30 a.m., according to supervisor Jeremy Stafford with the L.A. County Fire Department.

Smoke billowing from the area was first noticed by L.A. County sheriff’s deputies, who called the fire department, according to a sheriff’s press release.
