Worcester police arrest man in connection to suspicious death




Worcester police have arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with the death of a woman Saturday night, police said.

Police found the 56-year-old woman, whose name has not been released, in her Bailey Street home after receiving a tip that she may have been harmed, according to a police statement on Facebook.

“The caller further stated that the female may have been harmed by a family member and that the person was no longer at the home, but was at the Dunkin’ Donuts located at 211 Chandler Street.,” police said in the post.

The victim was found dead, apparently from blunt trauma, around 11:30 p.m. after police entered the house for a welfare check, police said.

Police arrest teen after suspicious death in Elmira

Waterloo police have arrested a 17-year-old who was wanted in connection to the death of 57-year-old Elmira woman. 

Police were called to a home on Falcon Drive on Christmas Day. They arrived and found the woman was dead. 

The death was labelled “suspicious” and police said they were interested in speaking with a young person who knew the woman and was described as “dangerous.”

At the time, the teenager’s name and photo were released to CBC News under a court order. 

The order has since been removed and the teen’s photo and name can no longer be published, as he is under the age of 18.

According to a police press release, the teenager was arrested Wednesday afternoon on Farmers Market Lane in Waterloo.

He will appear in court Thursday and police say he will be charged with second degree murder.

Arrest made in Stuckey Avenue suspicious death investigation

A 63-year-old man has been arrested in connection with what police are calling a homicide at a Stuckey Avenue apartment complex Saturday.

William Thomas Bullock Jr. has been charged with first-degree murder in connection to the death of Joseph Burrelli at an apartment complex for formerly homeless veterans.

Bullock is being held in the Leon County jail without bond.

The Stuckey Avenue complex, Home Front, has 56 apartments and is run by the Big Bend Homeless Coalition.

Tallahassee Police opened its investigation into Burrelli’s death at about 5:15 p.m. Saturday.

Police arrest Rocky Hill father in death of infant | FOX 61


ROCKY HILL — Connecticut State Police Major Crime detectives have arrested a Rocky Hill man in the death of his one-month old child.

The investigation began shortly about 6:30 Saturday evening when the Rocky Hill Police Department responded to a call from a distraught mother reporting that her one month old child was not breathing. She said  the child was with the father in a car in the parking lot of the Residence Inn on Cromwell Avenue (Route 3).

The same night and very near the same location where a Key Largo woman was found dead inside her smoldering home with wounds police call “suspicious,” another woman said her ex-boyfriend threatened to stab her and burn her house down.

The woman told police the incident happened in the parking lot of the bar where the deceased woman was last seen.

Eddy Lopez Jemot, 50, was arrested on aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and burglary charges Monday. Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputies say that Saturday night he forcefully opened the driver’s side of his ex-girlfriend’s Blue Dodge van parked in front of the Key Largo Veterans of Foreign Wars post, a popular local bar.

Investigation of suspicious death leads to arrest, authorities say …

A 45-year-old man faces charges of first degree murder after his roommate was found dead inside their apartment Tuesday morning, Osceola County deputies said.

Scott Douglas Waddell spoke with county detectives when they responded to a burglar alarm at 11:15 a.m., sheriff’s spokesman Jacob Ruiz said. When they investigated the residence at Villas of Island Club complex in Kissimmee, they found the body of 30-year-old Nicholas Anthony Corvino.

Authorities say the victim appeared to suffer from a gunshot wound.

Ruiz said Waddell refused to cooperate with authorities and was taken into custody.

Investigators make arrest in suspicious death

Charles Willoughby, 32, was charged with murdering Mohammad H. Barak in July.

Investigators on Wednesday arrested a 32-year-old man — already in jail on unrelated charges — in the shooting death of Mohammad H. Barak on July 6, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

Charles Willoughby was charged with homicide. Officials did not have to travel far to arrest him, as he has been at the Marion County Jail since July 14 on larceny-grand theft and petit theft charges.

Barak’s body was found in his home in the 10400 block of Southwest 45th Avenue on July 6. The neighborhood is south of 95th Street, west of Interstate 75 and east of 49th Avenue. Officials at the time did not release many details, calling it a “suspicious death.”
