Wood County authorities investigating ‘suspicious death’ – Wtap

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. – Wood County authorities are investigating a “suspicious death” after the body of a white male was found behind a business on Emerson Avenue Friday morning.

Wood County Sheriff Steve Stephens say an employee from Pleasants Air Heating and Cooling, located in the 5200 block of Emerson Avenue, found the body behind the business and called 911.

A dispatch supervisor at the Wood County 911 center says deputies were dispatched after the call came in about 7:30 a.m.

Authorities have not released the name of the victim or additional details about the case pending notification of family members.

The Wood County coroner’s office was called to the scene.

Investigation of suspicious death leads to arrest, authorities say …

A 45-year-old man faces charges of first degree murder after his roommate was found dead inside their apartment Tuesday morning, Osceola County deputies said.

Scott Douglas Waddell spoke with county detectives when they responded to a burglar alarm at 11:15 a.m., sheriff’s spokesman Jacob Ruiz said. When they investigated the residence at Villas of Island Club complex in Kissimmee, they found the body of 30-year-old Nicholas Anthony Corvino.

Authorities say the victim appeared to suffer from a gunshot wound.

Ruiz said Waddell refused to cooperate with authorities and was taken into custody.

Homicide detectives are investigating the suspicious death of a woman whose body was found Friday at a hotel in Artesia.

Detectives responded to the 16900 block of Pioneer Boulevard about 10:40 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The woman was discovered at Artesia Inn and Suites, said a front desk clerk for the hotel. He declined to answer additional questions.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Sheriff’s homicide bureau at (323) 890-5500.

Bibb County authorities rule death a suicide – Story | WAGA

– Investigators in Bibb County said a man found dead near a makeshift campground died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The badly decomposed body of Alonzo Anderson Jr., 23, of Macon, was found near the 2000 block of Eisenhower Parkway.

Initially, the death was ruled suspicious, but it was later determined to be a suicide.

The body found was so badly decomposed, authorities could not immediately determine the gender, but the Bibb County Coroner’s Office later was able to make a positive ID.

Investigators said Anderson died from a single gunshot wound to the head.

Barron Co. authorities investigate ‘suspicious’ death north of Chetek

Barron County (WQOW) – Police are investigating a death that happened in Barron County over the weekend.

The Barron County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call on Sunday at 8 a.m. regarding a Chetek man, who passed out behind the wheel of a car on 25th Street at 9 3/4 Avenue north of Chetek.

According to a press release, authorities found Mark E. Johnson, 56, of Chetek, dead in the vehicle, and he appeared to have been placed on the floor on the passenger side of the vehicle.

Detectives said they questioned two people in reference to the suspicious death. Police said the situation is an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the public.

Authorities said the death is being ruled suspicious. They are currently awaiting autopsy results.

Authorities investigate ‘suspicious death’ in Hibbing | Duluth News …

Police arrived around 4:39 p.m. to find the body of a deceased man, and called in Hibbing investigators due to the “suspicious circumstances” surrounding the death. Investigators requested additional assistance from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

The investigation is ongoing and the police department did not release any additional information about the victim or the nature of the death Monday night.
