CRESTON, Iowa – Investigators are looking into a suspicious death in Creston.

The Iowa Department of Public Safety says crews were called to 300 East Montgomery, Apartment 3 around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday night to a welfare check. When officers from the Creston Police Department arrived, they found the body of a deceased male.

The body has been identified as 45-year-old Paul Allen Scheel.

Officials say the death is being treated as suspicious. An autopsy will be performed by the Iowa Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting the Creston Police Department with the case.

Fairfax County Police are investigating a suspicious death after a man was found unresponsive on the street in Centreville, Virginia early Wednesday morning.

Around 5:15 a.m., a 911 caller reported finding the unresponsive man in the 13000 block of Jeb Stuart Square.

Police said the victim suffered trauma to the upper body. This is being investigated as a homicide.

Officials are still working to identify the identification of the victim and the cause.

Police said the victim is about 5’6”-5’8” tall and was found wearing a sweatshirt with this design.

Fairfax County Police are investigating a suspicious death after 17-year-old boy was found unresponsive on the street in Centreville, Virginia early Wednesday morning.

Body Found in Burning Car in Garden Grove; Death Deemed Suspicious by Investigators

The death of a person found inside a burning vehicle in a Garden Grove parking lot has been deemed suspicious by police Tuesday morning.

Firefighters were called to the 9800 block of Garden Grove Boulevard about 3:44 a.m. on a report of a car engulfed in flames, Garden Grove Police Department Lt. Jeff Nightengale said.

“Once the Fire Department got the fire under control they noticed that there was a body in the vehicle,” Nightengale said.

Fire officials called police department investigators, who have deemed the death suspicious.

“At this point we’re looking at all possibilities as to why this person was deceased inside the vehicle,” Nightengale said.

Firefighters were called to the 9800 block of Garden Grove Boulevard about 3:30 a.m. on a report of a car engulfed in flames, Garden Grove Police Department Lt. Jeff Nightengale said.

“Once the Fire Department got the fire under control they noticed that there was a body in the vehicle,” Nightengale said. An updated news release from police about the incident described the vehicle as being a 2005 Toyota Prius.

The victim was found in in the passenger seat of the car, according to the news release.

Deputies Investigate Suspicious Death in Tahoma | FOX40

TAHOMA — The death of a victim found inside a Tahoma home has been rule a homicide by the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department.

Just before 12:45 p.m. Sunday, deputies were called out to investigate reports of shots fired in the area of Timber Wolf Drive and Alder Street.

Upon arrival, a deputy could hear gunshots coming from the area of a known felon’s home, the sheriff’s office said.

Shortly after, the deputy saw the suspected person leaving the home, according to the sheriff’s office. A pursuit then began.

Investigators tell FOX40 that the suspect ran into a restaurant at the Homewood Ski Resort. The restaurant was evacuated.

The suspect was later taken into custody by Placer County sheriff’s deputies.

When deputies conducted a welfare check at the original address, a body was found inside.
