Police Investigating Suspicious Death After Discovering Man’s Body in Grand Traverse Co.

A downstate man was found dead in Grand Traverse County.

Michigan State Police identified the man as 62-year-old Marc Ruben from Farmington Hills.

His death is being treated as suspicious.

Police received a call from ice fishermen Tuesday night around 9:30 about a body near Karlin Road and the public boat launch in Green Lake Township.

An autopsy was done on Ruben’s body Wednesday and there were no signs of trauma.

But through their investigation, state police say drugs appear to be involved and they are waiting for toxicology results.

“Troopers responded to the Green Lake public boat access regarding a deceased body that was located by some fishermen,” said Sergeant Scott McManus with the Michigan State Police Cadillac Post.

While troopers were investigating, Grand Traverse County deputies responded to a medical emergency at a home nearby — discovering a possible connection to a woman at the home

PD: Man found dead in Grand Rapids house was shot | WOODTV.com

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids police are investigating a suspicious death on the city’s northwest side.

Officers were called to a home at the corner of Straight Avenue and Chatham Street NW around 11:45 a.m. Friday for a welfare check. When they arrived, they found a 26-year-old man who was unconscious and “suffering from injuries that are consistent with a gunshot wound.”

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

“He’s 26 years old, he’s a male and that in and of itself would make it suspicious,” GRPD Deputy Chief Eric Payne said. “But there were things at the scene that would cause us at least wanting to look into it more.”

Police have not yet released the victim’s name. It’s unclear exactly when he died.

Investigators said no one else was inside the home when the man was found, and officers do not have a suspect description.

Anyone with information in this case

Grand Rapids police investigating suspicious death of 2 men | MLive …

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Grand Rapids police are investigating the death of two people Sunday evening.

Grand Rapids Police Department Sgt. Cathy Williams said a caller reported two men unconscious in home in the 1200 block of Quarry Avenue NW before 9 a.m. on Dec. 17. Police and medical units responded and found a man in his 20s and another in his 40s and pronounced them both dead shortly afterward.

Williams said it is evident that there are no signs of physical trauma, which she called a “good sign,” but it is too early to tell what the cause of death is. Police will treat the death as suspicious for now, she said.

“We don’t know what kind of circumstances there were inside the home prior to the victims being pronounced dead,” Williams said.

She said its unlikely that the deaths were related to a pre-existing health condition.
