‘Suspicious death investigation’ under way after body found at …

SEATTLE – SWAT and fire crews were on the scene of a fire and death investigation near Lake City Way on Monday.

Homicide detectives were conducting a suspicious death investigation, which began as a welfare check in the 2500 block of N.E. 107th St. on Monday morning.

While police were there on the scene for the welfare check, a smoke alarm went off. Emergency crews found a woman’s body while they were responding to the fire. Nobody else was inside the home.

Detectives were waiting for a search warrant before they could continue the investigation.

Fire crews said the fire was small and easily extinguished.

Lake City Way was closed down in both directions in the area, with traffic being funneled off to 113th and Northgate Way. Police said the roads would be open “as soon as we can.”

Some people in the neighborhood said they were evacuated from their homes.

Suspicious death investigation underway in Bradenton | Bradenton …

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious death after a body was found Monday morning.

According to a release from MCSO Public Information Director Dave Bristow, a worker in the area discovered the body at about 8:35 a.m. in the 3500 block of 26th Avenue East.

The man has been identified as 41-year-old Michael Angelo Jacoby Grantley, according to the sheriff’s office.

Detectives arrived to find Grantley’s body about 30 yards south of 26th Avenue East. His death is being treated as a homicide.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death, according to the release.

Suspicious death under investigation in Encanto – The San Diego … – The San Diego Union

The discovery of a woman’s body in a ravine in Encanto on Saturday is being investigated as a suspicious death.

Her name, age and the cause of her death were not immediately known.

A man and his daughter found the body as they were walking a dog through the area, off South 66th Street near Skyline Drive, about 2:30 p.m., homicide Lt. Todd Griffin said.

The man sought out police officers at nearby Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park and told them about the body.

One person was found dead inside an apartment complex that caught fire in the Pico-Union neighborhood of Los Angeles Wednesday morning, and officials believe the death may be suspicious.

Firefighters were called to the 1700 block of South New Hampshire Avenue about 3:15 a.m. where they found heavy flames burning on the second floor of a two-story residential building, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey stated in a news release.

The flames were contained to a single unit of the building and were doused in about 45 minutes.

Firefighters conducted a search of the building and found one person, who was pronounced dead at the scene, Humphrey said.

Police Search For Possible Witness In Suspicious Death Investigation


FORT SMITH (KFSM) — Fort Smith police are searching for a possible witness in a suspicious death investigation.

Police responded to the 2700 block of Zero Street on Dec. 31 in reference to a suspicious death.

Detectives are now trying to identify a man that could be a possible witness and could answer questions related to the death.

Suspicious death under investigation in Greenville Co. | WSPA.com

Greer (WSPA) — The Greenville County Coroner’s Office and Greer Police are investigating a suspicious death.

The coroner says 20-year-old Armani Wilson was dropped off at the emergency room at Greer Memorial Hospital. He was left there around 5:30 Friday afternoon. Officials say Wilson was dropped off by an unidentified man and woman in a dark, late model car.

Anyone with information is being asked to call Greer Police, the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, or Crimestoppers at 23-CRIME.
