SAGINAW, MI — The Saginaw Police Department is investigating a suspicious death Thursday morning at a home on the city’s West Side.
Around 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, officers were called to a home in the 1500 block of Gratiot Avenue.
Police at the scene said they were investigating a suspicious death but did not disclose details about the person.
Saginaw Police Detective Sgt. Matt Gerow said homicide has been ruled out.
Gerow said more details will be released about the person as the investigation continues.

Update: Police identify man found dead in home
CHAPIN TWP, MI — Saginaw County sheriff’s deputies were called to the 15000 block of South Merrill in Chapin Township about 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22, to investigate a suspicious death, according to Lt. Mike Gomez.
Gomez said a neighbor called Saginaw County 911 for a well-being check, Gomez said.
Gomez said that when officers arrived and found the man, it appeared he had been dead for a few days.
The man had an extensive medical history and a medical examiner will determine the exact cause of death, Gomez said.
