UPDATE: Police identify victim in suspicious death

The York County coroner is looking into a death at a York home. It’s not yet clear what happened, but the county forensic unit is at the scene along the 400 block of Salem Avenue. Watch Ed Weinstock’s report above for more.

UPDATE: York City Police have identified the victim as Lester Herbin Jr., 47. Herbin was found dead inside his home at 466 Salem Ave. Investigators are characterizing his death as suspicious. An autopsy has been scheduled for later this week.

UPDATE: Teen identified after ‘suspicious’ death – KCRG.com

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) – Loved ones tell TV9 the body of a recently married Cedar Rapids teen was discovered by authorities inside a local apartment, Saturday morning.

Emergency crews responded to Shamrock Apartments at 316 Jacolyn Drive SW, around 11:20 a.m., for a welfare check at a unit there.

According to the mother of 18-year-old AnnaElise Edgeton (McMann), the teen’s body was discovered inside.

Family members said Edgeton, previously McMann, was married in 2017.

The teen had missed time at work, which helped prompt the welfare check by authorities.

A police spokesperson said investigators believe the girl’s death is suspicious.

Public Safety Communications Coordinator Greg Buelow told TV9 the latest details in a statement, Saturday afternoon.

“This is a suspicious death,” said Buelow. “There is an active, ongoing investigation.“

UPDATE: Authorities Investigating Suspicious Death on Hixon Pl. in …

January 11, 9:16 p.m.: this article has been updated with more information from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office (ECPO) and the South Orange Police are investigating a death that occurred on Hixon Place in South Orange on Thursday afternoon.

The incident is under investigation, and “we cannot release the identity of the person pending notification of the next of kin,” Chief Assistant Prosecutor Thomas S. Fennelly told Village Green. The cause and manner of death is pending an autopsy by the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

The victim was a 70-year-old man who was found outside his residence, said Fennelly in an update later Thursday night. “The initial call was at approximately 2:51 p.m. and the [man] was pronounced dead at the scene.”

“At this point, there is no need for residents to be concerned or alarmed,” Fennelly said. “It appears to be an isolated incident.”

UPDATE: Charleston woman found dead from gunshot wound – WSAZ – WSAZ

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) — UPDATE 12/18/17 @ 10:30 a.m.
Charleston Police say a woman found late Saturday died from a gunshot wound.

Police say the body of Joann Short, 46, of Charleston was found outside on Coleman Street on the east end of Charleston around midnight Sunday.

Police say Short was shot at least one time in the head.

There are no suspects at this time.

According to police, Short was a known prostitute.

Charleston Police tell WSAZ an investigation is underway after a body was found late Saturday night.

Detectives tell WSAZ the body was found outside on Coleman Street on the east end of Charleston around midnight. Detectives are calling the death suspicious.

Charleston detectives worked throughout the night to process the scene and investigate.

UPDATE: Red Deer RCMP investigate non-suspicious death …

Red Deer RCMP and City of Red Deer emergency services staff are no longer on scene at the downtown Sorensen Station transit terminal, and traffic on 48th St. and around Sorensen Station is no longer impacted.

Shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 13th, RCMP officers on patrol in the downtown located a deceased man who had fallen from the roof of Sorensen Station. The RCMP investigation has confirmed that the death of the 45-year-old man was not suspicious. The deceased was not a Red Deer resident.

RCMP, Emergency Services and Red Deer Transit thank the public for their cooperation during the investigation. RCMP offer their condolences to the family of the deceased and, out of respect for their privacy, will not be offering further information on this incident.

UPDATE: Richmond man wanted in connection with ‘suspicious’ death arrested

UPDATE: 11/29/17 4:04PM: The man wanted in connection with the death investigation of a Richmond woman is now lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.

Based on jail records, Thomas E. Mason, 61, of North Third Street, Richmond, is being held on first-degree bail jumping and failure to appear charges. He was arrested Tuesday evening by the Berea Police Department.

Update: Body identified in suspicious death on Lady’s Island; family member still missing – WSAV

UPDATE:

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office reports the body found has been identified as 25-year-old Robert Blanding of St. Helena Island. Preliminary findings of the investigation indicate that Blanding sustained multiple gunshot wounds at the hands of an unknown subject and died as a result of those wounds. An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Thus far in the investigation into Robert Blanding’s death, Sheriff’s Office investigators learned that he was in the company of his nephew, 19-year-old Chaz Blanding, early Tuesday evening, as the two were seen leaving Chaz’s Beaufort residence. When investigators attempted to locate Chaz Blanding last night, his family members indicated they had not seen or heard from him since Tuesday. After learning that Robert Blanding had been shot and killed, Chaz Blanding was reported missing and endangered by his family.
