UPDATE: Person of interest in homicide investigation dies of self …

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – UPDATE: 10/21/2017 11:52 P.M.

A person of interest in a homicide investigation in Wood County is now dead.

Wood County Sheriff deputies say Andrew Thomas Whipkey, 34, of Parkersburg, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at a Go-Mart on 16th street in Parkersburg just after 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Sheriff Stephens says his deputies attempted to stop Whipkey for a traffic violation. That’s when he says Whipkey pulled into the Go-Mart and shot himself.

Authorities considered him a person of interest in a homicide investigation involving the death of Kevin King, 38, of Mineral Wells.

King’s body was found near the 5200 block of Emerson Avenue… outside of Parkersburg’s city limits on Friday morning.

Sheriff Stephens says the investigation into the homicide is ongoing, while the Parkersburg Police are handling the incident at Go-Mart.

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. – UPDATE: 10/20/2017, 5:28 P.M.

Wood County Sheriff Steve Stephens confirms the body found Friday morning behind an Emerson Avenue business is the victim of a homicide.

Sheriff Stevens says the victim is Kevin King, 38, of Mineral Wells.

Investigators have not named a suspect or motive for the killing, and are still investigating how the victim was killed.

Around 7:30 Friday morning, an employee of Pleasants Air Heating and Cooling, located in the 5200 block of Emerson Avenue, found King’s body behind the business and called 911.

9:12 p.m.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) — The victim in a suspicious death at the Ramada Inn on the 2100 block of Gordon Highway was shot, and a woman is in custody.

Around 1 p.m., the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office received a call to a room at the Ramada Inn on Gordon Highway. When they arrived they found 50-year-old Michael Davenport dead with at least one gunshot wound.

During the investigation, they learned the suspect to be 40-year-old Leslie Harris of Augusta. Investigators were able to locate and take Harris into custody.

Harris is currently being housed at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center for the charges of murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

8:20 p.m.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) — The victim in a suspicious death at the Ramada Inn on the 2100 block of Gordon Highway has been identified.

The victim; Michael Davenport, 50, of Augusta; was found in the hotel room by the staff of the hotel. Davenport was pronounced dead at 1:40 p.m. and was sent to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy.

The Coroner’s Office and the Sheriff’s Office are still investigating.


3:00 p.m.

RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) — Richmond County Sheriff’s Office and the Coroner’s Office is on the scene at the Ramada Inn on 2154 Gordon Highway.

According to investigators, it appears the death is suspicious. One person is confirmed dead according to the Coroner.

UPDATE: WVSP investigating man’s death as murder – WSAZ – WSAZ

BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) — UPDATE 10/3/17 @ 10:45 a.m.
West Virginia State Police say they are now investigating the death of a Boone County man as a murder.

Charles Lester, 63, was found dead in his home by family members Sunday evening.

The names of any suspects have not been released at this time.

Troopers are waiting on the medical examiner to determine the cause of death.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Madison detachment of WVSP.

UPDATE: According to the Linn County Jail’s arraignment list, Gregory Davis is to be arraigned this morning on one count of first-degree murder. The arresting agency is listed as the Marion Police Department. There are no other details available at this time.

MARION —Update as of 4:20 p.m.: The Marion Police Department is considering the death investigation of a body found at 560 Hillview Dr. a homicide, according to a news release sent Monday afternoon.

UPDATE: BCSO investigates ‘suspicious death’ in Panama City

BCSO said Saturday a 41-year-old woman was found dead in a home on West 24th Court. A 3-year-old child also in the house was reported to be in good health.

 

PANAMA CITY — A light rain fell Saturday afternoon as the Bay County Sheriff’s Office began investigating what they initially labeled a “suspicious death” at a Panama City home.

Few details were immediately available, including the deceased’s name, with BCSO saying only that she was a 41-year-old female. They also had yet to name any possible persons of interest.

Deputies responded about 3:30 p.m. Saturday to 4025 W. 24th Court. The front door was slightly ajar as several investigators combed the cordoned-off perimeter of the residence and took pictures within. At the outset of the investigation, officials were calling the scene a “suspicious death.”

UPDATE: Suspicious Death Investigation Underway In Valencia – Khts

Homicide officials are at the scene of a suspicious death investigation for a body found inside a Valencia home, officials said Sunday evening.

The dead body was reported at the 23600 block of Via Valer. Deputies and fire officials responded at approximately 4 p.m.

A Hispanic male was reportedly found in the residence, according to Homicide officials.

The body was found not far from where a 20-year-old man was reported missing less than a day ago. Witnesses also reported to KHTS News that a man was put in handcuffs near the residence around 5 p.m.

Homicide officials said shortly before 9 p.m. there were no arrests in relation to the death at this time.

Update: Loveland police continue investigating suspicious death

The Loveland Police Department is continuing its investigation into the death of a 53-year-old man last weekend.

Earlier this week, the department asked people for help identifying a vehicle seen near the place where Ronald Dixon was found unresponsive in a northeast Loveland parking lot. Since then, police have identified the people in the car, and do not believe they were involved in the incident, according to a news release sent out Friday afternoon.
